ASHLAND, VA (WWBT) -

Sam Hart is going back to baseball.? The Patrick Henry Head Football Coach is stepping down to become the Patriots baseball coach, a position he held for 15 years.

Hart said Thursday that his family had taken a backseat since he became the PHHS football coach three years ago, and that he missed baseball.? Hart played in college at Longwood University.

Hart said that he would be open to returning to the team as an assistant football coach.? Patrick Henry has begun the search for his replacement.

The Patriots went 10-20 in Hart's three years at the helm.
