STARKVILLE ? Mississippi State's new wide receivers coach arrived on campus just in time for practice Thursday afternoon.
Former Minnesota coach?Tim Brewster reached out to MSU coach?Dan Mullen about the vacancy soon after?Angelo Mirando's abrupt resignation Sunday. He interviewed Wednesday and was hired soon after.
"I love football," said Brewster, who was an assistant on?Mack Brown's staff at North Carolina and Texas for 13 years. "I can't tell you how great it was to be back on the grass today. I missed it badly."
Brewster has mostly coached tight ends throughout his career, including stints with the San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos before he served three-plus seasons as the coach at Minnesota, where he was fired after a 1-6 start in 2010.
