If you want to become certified to teach in Arizona, it is simplest to complete an approved program at an Arizona college. You would need to complete a major or its equivalent in the subject(s) you plan to teach. You would need to pass the Praxis 1 (reading, writing, and math) in order to be admitted to the education program. Most colleges also require a B average to get into the program. In addition to your major, you would need to complete the other requirements for a college degree (such as general education courses) and the education classes (including student teaching) required for certification. You may also be required to pass the Praxis 2 in your major. If you want to attend college in another state, you should completed the requirements for that state and then work on the paperwork necessary to get a license in Arizona.

If your cousin?s case was handled in juvenile court, there should not be an issue. Even if it wasn?t, it probably won?t be a problem. After all, teaching is about helping people learn and change.
