Hello, today?s question is: ?Does SEO work for Small Business??

I think the first thing we have to do, though, is to define what SEO is today. There were pretty clear boundaries just a few years ago on what SEO was. Today I have to believe SEO includes a lot of different things: local search results, social media and, of course, optimizing your pages and your website, and the even offsite SEO which would traditionally be link building.

So, for local small businesses? Absolutely, SEO works if you take all of these elements into account. So I definitely would go after Google Places and get those set up. I would build out your pages in a fashion that?s focused on long-tail keywords. So if you?re a hotel in Scottsdale and you happen to be a luxury hotel, maybe you?re going to focus on a keyword phrase ?Scottsdale Luxury Hotels.? So you can get that kind of traffic rather than competing against everybody else for ?Scottsdale Resorts? or ?Scottsdale Hotels.?

So SEO for virtually any size business can work, and I actually think the small businesses ? because you?re generally in a niche ? can really take advantage of SEO techniques and move your business forward online.
